Due to the continued growth in our Project Management Team, we are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our Building & Infrastructure Division. This role requires a minimum Level 8 qualification in Engineering (or equivalent qualification appropriate to the tasks assigned). In general, the title may apply to staff that have between 5 and 10 years’ experience depending on the knowledge and skills gained over the course of their career to date. A project Management Specific qualification will be an advantage. This role is available in either our Galway or Dublin office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A Project Manager is expected to take full responsibility for the technical and financial delivery of the project.

In summary, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Demonstrated capability in delivering complex projects both technically and financially.
  • Adept relationship-builder, able to connect with clients and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • A strategic thinker with a detailed understanding of legal compliance, quality standards, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, balancing time, scope, and resources effectively.
  • Enact a robust Quality Management system across the project lifecycle in compliance with QMS/EMS/OHSAS standards.
  • Manage project financials, from budgeting and cash flow forecasting to invoicing clients and overseeing accounts receivables.
  • Uphold TOBIN reputation by maintaining a vigilant approach to all regulatory and legal project aspects, including health and safety and BCAR compliance.
  • Drive effective internal and external communication, establishing transparent channels and fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Ensure the alignment of project objectives between TOBIN, clients, and the project team, upholding contractual terms and conditions.
  • Direct the appropriate deployment of the TOBIN management systems and advocate for continuous improvements to these systems.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of project management teams within the company.
  • Championing innovative project management strategies and practices, integrating them into TOBIN operations to ensure a competitive edge in the industry.
  • Communication with the Client and internally with your own Operations Director / Operations Manager and project team.
  • Cash flow management based on project deliverables and projected (accurate and reliable) invoicing dates in respect of those deliverables, issuing of invoices, client follow-up on invoices, and management of project debtors.
  • To ensure that any new project has a well-defined brief, a WBS, and Client acceptance of the T&Cs (normally a signed contract or fee agreement).
  • To establish an agreed project programme with the Client.
  • To ensure that all team members (including other divisions within TOBIN) know what part they play in the project and within what budget they must work (including hours and expenses).
  • To ensure that the company procedures for dealing with sub-consultants are adhered to.
  • To ensure that all designs are prepared by personnel competent to do so and that all designs are independently checked before they are issued to the Client.

  • The Project Manager is expected to be a leader not just in project execution but in the evolution of the project management discipline within TOBIN:
  • Lead the adoption of progressive project management methodologies company-wide, adapting to emerging industry trends.
  • Cultivate a knowledge-sharing environment, encouraging the professional growth of junior project management staff.
  • Refine project management frameworks in collaboration with cross-functional teams to scale to various project sizes and complexities.
  • Partake in strategic planning initiatives, aiming to align project goals with the company’s overarching vision and growth objectives.
  • Foster client relationships leading to repeat business through exceptional service delivery and client engagement.
  • Play a pivotal role in the mentorship and development of junior project managers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine project management frameworks that are adaptive to diverse project scales and complexities, ensuring robust and scalable delivery solutions.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process by participating in the development of long-term project objectives, aligning with the company’s vision and ambition for growth.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional command of both written and verbal English communication.
  • Proficiency with project management systems especially TOBIN in-house tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts and consultancy engagement conditions.
  • Sound judgment in proactively seeking assistance acknowledging the strength in collaboration.
  • Good understanding of Design process in local construction projects.
