Engineers Week 2017

Engineers Week 2017: TOBIN – ‘National Sports Campus Open Day’ at the National Sports Campus.

To celebrate Engineers Week 2017, TOBIN Consulting Engineers is inviting members of the general public to visit the National Sports Campus in Abbotstown, Co. Dublin. This event will allow visitors to see, at first hand, the role that Engineering has played in the development of crucial Irish sporting infrastructure. The objective is to create a positive awareness of the engineering profession in Ireland among the general public while at the same time affording them the opportunity to avail of a walking tour of some of the most innovative sporting facilities in not only Ireland, but in Europe.

TOBIN - National Sports Campus Open Day

To date, TOBIN Consulting Engineers has played a very central role in the development of the National Sports Campus. TOBIN has acted as Employers Representative and Technical Advisor to Sport Ireland in the delivery of key infrastructure within this Campus, including the National Horse Sport Arena, the Campus Pavilion Building, the Irish Institute of Sport High-Performance Training Centre and the National Sports Campus Community Playing Pitches. TOBIN Consulting Engineers was also appointed to deliver the centrepiece of the Campus, the National Indoor Arena. This event will offer unparalleled access to the biggest designated sporting location in Ireland and indeed one of the most prominent engineering achievements in recent years in this sector. From an engineering perspective, the extent of what has been done here is incredible, so Engineer’s week will be a good time for people to come and see this.
