About the Role
TOBIN is seeking a highly experienced Major Projects Lead to join our expanding team and take a senior leadership role in delivering some of the largest and most complex projects in the Irish water sector. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of infrastructure development in a Design & Build (D&B) environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and leading high-impact projects from detailed design through to completion.
We welcome applications from professionals with backgrounds in Design Management, Project Management, and Technical Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process), who have demonstrable experience in D&B delivery for major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide strategic leadership and oversight across major water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a D&C framework.
· Lead and develop multidisciplinary design teams and interface with construction partners to ensure seamless project execution.
· Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality across all phases of design and construction.
· Act as a senior point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
· Drive innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in project delivery methodologies.
· Contribute to business development and tendering activities for major projects.
Requirements
· Project Director-level experience in the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally within the regulated water industry.
· Proven experience in the regulated water industry in Ireland or the UK is essential.
· Strong background in Design & Build (D&B) project delivery.
· Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
· Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary teams and manage high-value projects.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Desirable
· Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
· Experience with Uisce Eireann, NI Water or UK water utilities.
· Familiarity with FIDIC and NEC contracts and collaborative delivery models.
· International experience in water infrastructure projects is welcomed and valued.
