The Water Network Management Services & Works was a framework type project for the rehabilitation of the watermain network in eight regions of Ireland. For each region, a contractor was appointed for the duration of the framework, 2017 to 2021.
TOBIN was the Designer for the appointed contractor for the Midlands region, Ward and Burke Construction Ltd. To date 90km of watermains have been replaced in the midlands.
The framework included the rehabilitation of various sections of the watermains network, limited to pipework under 250mm diameter, with some exceptions. These exceptions are known as out-of- scope works.
Our role as designer expanded since the beginning of the framework, to include various other roles including:
- management of ecological consultants and archaeologists
- reparation of design drawings for use by site
- personnel preparation of as-laid drawings
