Works consisted of design, tender documentation, PSDP, commercial support, construction supervision and project management of refurbishment works on 5 buildings at Limerick and Inchicore depots. The existing roofs were suffering from varying
defects which were impacting the operational functionality of the buildings.
The existing roofs varied from steel to timber structures with coverings of Single & and double-skin asbestos cement, metal trapezoidal sheeting, corrugated sheeting and ‘twin skin’ built-up roofs. The steel roof structure in some cases exhibits significant corrosion and after a testing regime; required replacement. Careful detailing was required on these buildings to compliment the traditional detailing while ensuring the roofs met current design standards and building regulations.
