Project Ireland 2040 National Planning Framework includes objectives to develop Galway City as a regional city and a driver of national growth. Future development and place-making policy priorities for Galway City include public realm and urban amenity projects. The Public Realm Strategy will support the implementation of national policy and identify opportunities within the public realm for projects which will attract funding from the National Development Plan 2018-2027 and other possible funding opportunities.
TOBIN Consulting Engineers were engaged by Galway City Council to provide project management and programming, financial management and cost control, planning, ownership searches for properties with basements under public areas, the procurement and administration of third party investigative surveys, drainage design, streetscape and pavement design and upgrade options report. We also performed the duties of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP). Planning service deliverables included Part 8 Planning for the Scheme including the provision of a cultural heritage report and traffic planning.
