Faustina Building, Galway

TOBIN had responsibility for the Design from Planning Stage through to completion of all Civil and Structural works for this Primary Healthcare Building in Galway. Developed in 2008, the Faustino Building is a two-storey over double basement building and comprises of a high structural specification with extensive glazing throughout. TOBIN was initially contracted at the planning stage, and we subsequently formed part of the design team at the Construction design stage. The significant health and safety issues that arose during this project related to the close proximity of the site to a significant roadway into Galway City. The building in this case has a site coverage of approx 85%.  Therefore, we have extensive experience in this project and others in designing structures within very tight site constraints.  Our input during the initial design stages was fundamental to the pattern and form of construction in an effort to reduce the risks to construction staff and for future building users.
