TOBIN Consulting Engineers were commissioned by HSE Estates to provide civil and structural design services in respect of emergency works at Letterkenny University Hospital. The works were required to allow the hospital manage the increase in patient numbers resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, and to streamline the circulation of patients into and out of the hospital.
The scope included a new PPE store, additional car parking, a Clinical Skills building, a Physio/OT building and an extension to the main hospital lobby area to provide COVID related triage facilities. TOBIN worked as part of a multi-disciplinary design services team that included an architect, mechanical and electrical consultant and a quantity surveyor in the delivery of this service.
TOBIN completed these design works under a fast-tracked timeline.
