TOBIN Consulting Engineers provided structural engineering expertise in the construction of a new two-storey bedroom wing and ancillary accommodation at the Delphi Adventure Resort. The site is located at Delphi Resort, Leenane, Connemara, Co. Galway. The geography of the site is that of a valley in a mountainous region which has the Bundoraighe River running parallel to the Resort approximately 20 to 30m away.
A visual investigation was also carried out, within the area of the proposed development. The scope of the investigation was to inspect the subsoil in trial holes (excavated by others), and also, if possible, ascertain a suitable bearing stratum or to ascertain whether further investigation would be required. We also ensured fire protection to structural elements.
