TOBIN were appointed by Shannon Commercial Enterprises DAC as Civil and Structural Engineers & PSDP for the development of the c40,000 sq.ft. R&D Technology Facilities in Shannon Free Zone including all site development works.
The building, which was completed in an accelerated 10-month build programme, is located on a c2.6-acre site adjacent to the main entrance to the Shannon Free Zone in a very high-profile location.
To provide Affordable and Clean Energy options, PV panels were installed on the roof which will help to meet the electricity demands of the building. The building was designed to retain heat and run as efficiently as possible with the wall, floor and roof insulation and air tightness designed in accordance with Part L of the Building Regulations.
