About the Role:
TOBIN is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. This is a key role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to work on a range of high-profile projects while contributing to the continued development of our teams and client relationships.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a central role in the delivery of cost management and commercial services across a variety of projects. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, supporting project delivery while mentoring junior team members and maintaining strong client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Commercial Delivery
- Preparation and review of Bills of Quantities and pricing documents
- Drafting tender documentation, including Suitability Assessment Questionnaires
- Preparation of cost plans and cost reports
- Tender assessment and preparation of tender reports
- Commercial management of construction contracts
- Attendance at site and design team meetings
- Preparation of payment certificates and recommendations
- Agreement of final accounts
Team & Client Engagement
- Lead and support project teams to deliver outputs on time and within budget
- Mentor and review the work of Graduate and Project Quantity Surveyors
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams across divisions
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of team members
- Provide constructive feedback and support team performance
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and best practice
- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures
- Maintain CPD records and contribute to professional development goals
About You:
- Level 8 Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
- Chartered status (SCSI and/or RICS)
- Typically 8–12 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Experience with Cubit (or similar estimating software)
