Role Overview
This is an exciting and fast‑paced opportunity based in Galway, offered on a 1‑year fixed‑term contract, with an ideal start date of April/May 2026. The role provides vital support to TOBIN’s business development and bid/tender activities and offers excellent exposure to the consultancy and engineering industry.
This role is ideal for candidates who are:
- Highly motivated and eager to learn, even with no direct experience
- Looking to gain hands‑on exposure to business development and bidding
- Or experienced professionals seeking to further develop in a busy consultancy environment
We’re open to people who are ambitious, driven, and excited by the opportunity to support tender submissions, client engagement, and business development initiatives. Strong organisation and time‑management skills will be essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate weekly with the Business Development Manager, wider Business Development team and Divisional Operations Directors to plan priorities, tasks, and expected outputs.
- Support the coordination, preparation, and submission of public and private sector tenders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Assist with the research, collation, and presentation of information and data for business development pursuits.
- Contribute to key account management, including client outreach, generating leads, managing relationships, and coordinating presentations and meetings with current and prospective clients.
Skills Competencies & Experience:
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds — from motivated early‑career candidates to experienced professionals. Ideal qualities include:
- Experience in tendering, business development, or sales is an advantage, particularly in consultancy or construction — but not essential.
- Candidates without direct experience but who demonstrate strong drive, curiosity, and willingness to learn are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and tender portals (e.g., eTenders) is beneficial but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, Outlook).
- A proactive approach, excellent organisational skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Comfort working toward weekly and monthly KPIs.
- A team‑oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
- A natural ability to build rapport and deliver excellent client engagement.
Education:
A qualification in Business, Administration, Construction, Engineering, or another relevant discipline is desirable. However, we also welcome candidates with strong transferable skills and a commitment to learning.
