TOBIN Consulting Engineers were appointed by Offaly County Council for the construction of a new Fire Station in Ferbane. Works also included site development works and site drainage, installation of new foul and surface water sewers and foul treatment system. The new facility provides for a two-bay station with a training yard, lecture room, canteen and staff facilities. Specific training installations include a drill tower, an underground water tank and a breathing apparatus compressor room. The new Fire Station accommodation consists of a Garage, Breathing Apparatus Room, Compressor Room, Training Room, Training Store Room, Tea Room, Muster Station Room, Uniform Cleaning Room, Watch Room, Gym, Shower Room, WC’s, Disabled WC, Female Changing Room and Store Room.
