Rilta recycles waste from other facilities and also recycles water where possible within its own facility, utilizing it for washing the wheels of trucks and general upkeep of the premises.
TOBIN have worked with Rilta Environmental for many years to ensure that, whilst recycling and managing waste from all over Ireland, Rilta do not inadvertently cause harm to the environment surrounding their own facility. An in-depth environmental management program was developed, carrying out monthly, quarterly and annual monitoring at the facility according to their waste management licence. Noise, dust, surface water, groundwater, wastewater and VOC emissions are monitored to ensure they are within licence limit requirements.
Rilta Environmental handle many potentially harmful materials such as oil and asbestos. By monitoring environmental receptors surrounding the facility, TOBIN aimed to protect the environment from potential harmful emissions or leaks that may otherwise go unnoticed.
