Shannon Airport Fire Certificates review

TOBIN Consulting Engineers completed a review of the Fire Certificates granted by Clare County Council in relation to the required status of protection of structural steelwork in Shannon Airport.

Shannon Airport is one of Ireland’s three primary international airports, along with Dublin and Cork. In 2017, 1.751 million passengers passed through the airport, making it the third-busiest airport in the country after Dublin and Cork.

Building regulations require certain elements of a structure to have fire resistance as, when exposed to fire, all commonly used structural materials lose some of their mechanical strength.
