Retha Esterhuizen

Major Project Lead - Water & Utilities

Retha brings over 24 years of experience in civil infrastructure across Namibia, South Africa, the UK, and Ireland, delivering projects ranging from large-diameter pipelines and mega platforms to housing developments, roads, substations, and wind farms. Her expertise spans feasibility and conceptual design through to detailed design, cost estimation, and project management.

Retha is a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland and the Institution of Civil Engineers. She holds a Baccalaureus Technologiae in Civil Engineering from Tshwane University of Technology (2003) and a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from Technikon Pretoria (2001).

As a lead designer within a design-and-build joint venture, Retha specialises in integrating buildability early in the design process. She brings particular expertise in risk identification and value engineering to meet cost, programme, and safety objectives.

Retha is an experienced team leader, skilled in guiding multi-disciplinary teams through the project lifecycle. She is passionate about improving lives through sustainable infrastructure.

Outside of work, Retha enjoys hiking and planning pedal bike tours with her partner. She has also joined a GAA club, where she plays Gaelic football with the Mothers and Others group.
