Last week saw the official opening of the new Rosscahill footpaths linking the townland of Doon West with Rosscahill. The works involved the construction of a new shared pedestrian footway and cycleway facility running parallel to the westbound lane of the N59 and adjoining minor roads.
These footpaths will be a huge boost for the local community regarding road safety on a very narrow stretch of road with cars passing at speed. The footpaths provide a safe link within the community removing the need to get in a car.
