Brian Gallagher, Technical Director here at TOBIN, gave a presentation to Engineers Ireland – West Region at Atlantic Technological University Galway on Sustainability in the Water Sector.
Brian’s lecture focused on energy in the water sector globally and in Ireland, and covered topics such as the decarbonisation of Ireland’s electricity, Uisce Éireann Irish Water’s Sustainability and Energy Policies, Whole Lifecycle Carbon Assessment (LCA) and energy recovery at wastewater treatment plants. He also outlined work undertaken by TOBIN on the Water Treatment Plant and the Raw Water Intake & Pumping Station for the Water Supply Project – Eastern and Midlands Region on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
