TOBIN is currently seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our growing Roads and Transportation Division. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure and mobility projects across Ireland, with flexibility to be based in any of our office locations and benefit from a hybrid working model.
Role Overview
This position is ideal for candidates with a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Transport Engineering (or equivalent qualification relevant to the role), and typically 2–6 years of experience in a similar consultancy or engineering environment. The role offers the chance to contribute to a wide range of transport planning and traffic engineering projects, while developing your skills alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
As part of a collaborative team and with support from senior staff, your responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders under the direction of the Project Manager
- Engaging with local authorities and external partners
- Reviewing technical documents and drawings prepared by Graduate Engineers
- Preparing Traffic and Mobility Management Reports
- Supporting and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
- Managing sub-consultants and contributing to project delivery
- Undertaking transport modelling and data analysis
- Taking direction from your Line Manager and senior project team members
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D an advantage)
- Familiarity with traffic modelling tools such as PICADY, ARCADY, and LinSig
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
