Continuing Professional Development
TOBIN Consulting Engineers view CPD as essential to maintaining excellence in design through technical knowledge and familiarity with the latest technical advances in our fields of expertise. Our CPD Policy is audited and accredited to Engineers Ireland “CPD Accredited Employer Standard”. We were among the first consultants to receive accreditation from Engineers Ireland in November 2002. In maintaining this accreditation our policy is achieve best practice in terms of the criteria set out by Engineers Ireland. Further details on our CPD Policy and accreditation can be found in Appendix 3.4d.
We were awarded Engineers Ireland’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Medium Sized Company Award in 2007 and were shortlisted finalists for this Award in 2008.
While we require that employees take individual responsibility for pursuing their own continuing development, we support them in their ongoing career development. TOBIN fund attendance at external courses and actively encourages staff to participate in our Online Knowledge Sharing Discussion Forum as well as working groups.
Our CPD Champion, Peter O’Halloran, schedules regular lunchtime lectures on a wide range of engineering topics.
