Department: Civil Engineering & Infrastructure, Based in GALWAY
Description:
The intern will gain practical experience in the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects including surveying, planning design and tendering of projects. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following: data collection, planning, design, preparation of tenders, report writing and communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team or using own initiative. On completion, the intern will have attained skills in working as part of a team in a modern Consultancy practice delivering Civil Engineering and Infrastructure projects.
Skills Requirements:
Should have an aptitude for Civil Engineering and Infrastructure design using AutoCAD and other computer packages including MS Word and Excel. Be able to demonstrate ability to assist Senior Staff in preparing and delivering discrete packages of work as will be assigned.

This is an Internship. An allowance of €50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payment. See JobBridge eligibility criteria.
Mentor: The Organisation will assign a mentor to support you during the Internship.

On completion, the intern will have attained skills in working as part of a team in a modern Consultancy practice delivering Roads and Transportation projects.

Department: Energy & Environment, Based in DUBLIN
Supervisor: Damien Grehan
Description:
The job will involve supporting the Ecology team on Ecological and Environmental aspects of major Civil Engineering Projects from site selection, scoping, desktop studies, site surveys and overseeing construction mitigation measures implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties will include assistance in the scoping and management of various assessments to relevant Directives & Standards to support the planning and implementation of both Public and Private Sector projects throughout Ireland. There will also be a requirement to provide assistance for the preparation of tenders in the energy and environment sector.
Core Competency:
Ability to work in teams or under own initiative in the preparation of the Flora & Fauna sections for Environmental Impact Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessment reports and Habitat Directive screening / Natura Impact reports.

Qualifications/Experience Required:
Excellent field survey skills including birds, protected mammals, habitats and flora.
